To sift you all like wheat.
But I have prayed for you, Simon,
That your faith may not fail,
And once you have recovered,
You in turn must strengthen your brothers.’
Like Peter, we are called to follow Jesus in
Comforting and strengthening
Our brothers and sisters who are in distress.
Through the Ministry of Consolation,
We are called to care for
Our elderly, children and
Those excluded from society.
Called to follow Christ,
We participate in God’s work,
Which is nothing but beauty,
Harmony and lasting peace.
Through our baptism, we are called to build
A healthy environment that leads to lasting peace.
Through the Ministry of Consolation,
We are called to listen to the cry of those
Who hunger and thirst for justice.
We are called to participate in
The multiplication of the loaves of our Lord Jesus.
Strengthen your brothers and sisters, Jesus tells us.
To bring about resurrection through consolation,
We must go to the fundamentals and
Taste the goodness of the Lord.
We must listen to the One who gives life to all things.
A heart that listens hears the beating of our Lord’s heart.
A heart that listens leaves room for the Holy Spirit, who
Will speak for us in all circumstances.
To bring about resurrection through consolation,
We must maintain inner silence even amid the noise.
Only moments of silence allow us to be in communion with
The suffering of Christ on the cross.
To give comfort, we must draw living water from
His pierces sides and his love that restores and forgives.
To bring about resurrection through consolation,
We must keep our hands open.
Only with open hands can we reach out to
Our afflicted brothers and sisters.
Inhabited by the Living God,
He becomes Presence among us.
To bring about resurrection through consolation,
We must have the gaze of Christ.
This gaze of kindness and love.
It is by looking at the cross that life
Will spring forth and light will dispel darkness.
It is with a compassionate gaze that we lift the weak,
That we forgive and restore dignity to every human being,
Their dignity as children of God.
To bring about resurrection through consolation,
We must remain in adoration, the source of all love.
It is in adoration that we learn to imitate Christ.
It is in a heart-to-heart encounter that we learn to taste his love.
It is by eating his body that we allow ourselves to be transformed.
It is in surrendering to his divine mercy that we become
A heart that consoles, a lamb in his likeness:
Gentle and humble of heart.
To bring about resurrection through consolation,
We must look at Mary at the foot of the cross.
Jesus entrust John, the disciple he loved, to his mother so
He would not despair. Mary must console the disciple.
Mary, mother of sorrows, who kept everything in her heart,
Has the mission of consoling the disciple.
Mary, Queen of the Apostles, becomes as
His Son Jesus requested
The Consoling Mother.
My Lord and my God,
You continue to console your people,
Come and accompany us to this Ministry of Consolation.
Walk before us and with us on this journey.
Mary, you knew how to console disciples,
Walk with us and intercede for us so
That afflicted hearts may find comfort,
Peace and joy in your son Jesus, our Lord.
Amen.
