PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR

Thank you O God
For the New Year.
Bless it, bless my thoughts,
My words, my actions and
My inner fire that keeps me alive
Throughout the year.

Lord, look at my family, my friends,
People I work with and cross my path everyday.
In this new year,
Make me a “ Presence” who gives life
And a blessing in their lives.
Lord, bless my acts of love.

Lord, look at the excluded from society.
In this new year,
Open my eyes so I can see you
Through them.
Lord, bless my acts of charity and solidarity.


Lord, look at these people
Thirsting for justice and peace.
In this new year,
Let me hear the cry of your children
Who hunger and thirst to share
The resources of the earth.
Lord, bless my acts of justice and peace.

Lord, look at our environment
And those working to protect our planet.
In this new year,
Help me to be involved in the construction
Of an ecological and solidarity World.
Lord, bless my environmental actions.

Lord, look at the political prisoners and
People seeking a way to freedom.
In this new year,
Make me prophetic and free
By words and actions.
Lord, bless my acts of freedom.

Lord, look at our consumer society.
In this new year,
May I say “No” to any form of consumerism that
Get me stuck in a false conception of happiness.
Lord, bless my consumer choices.

Lord, look at people injured
In their hearts, bodies and minds.
In this new year,
May I assist them in their spiritual and human quest.
Lord, bless my acts of tenderness and compassion.

Lord, look at these people who cannot forgive
Or thirsty for forgiveness.
In this new year,
May I offer forgiveness to all
Those who have offended me.
Lord, bless my acts of forgiveness and brotherhood.

Lord, look at these people who feel alone and unloved.
In this new year,
May I open myself to new relations
And maintain my previous relationships.
Lord, bless my heart gestures.

Lord, look at these people who find difficult
To accept this new day.
In this new year,
Clothe me with the spirit of gratitude.
So I can taste your love
And the joys of my daily life
One day at a time.
Lord, bless my acts of gratitude
And my simple “thank you.”
