PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR

Let peace be on earth!

 

 

My Lord and my God,
We offer you this New Year.
Bless it. Bless the earth of our ancestors,
Bless our parents, brothers and sisters,
Our families, our friends,
Our neighbors, our colleagues
And the entire community of people,
From the smallest to the largest,
Working to make our lives easier.

 

In this New Year, Lord,
Help us
To value the presence and

The mission of each other
Not as an object of productivity
But simply
As a person very essential for
The unification and the harmony of
Our life and the cosmos.

 

In this New Year, Lord,
Help us
To keep an open mind
To understand the reality of today's world;
To keep an open heart
To love and to be compassionate
When evil seems stronger.

 

In this New Year, Lord,
Help us
To be witnesses of Faith

When the vicissitudes of life

Have no meaning in our lives and in the world.

In this New Year, Lord,
Help us
To be witnesses of Hope
When weapons of all kinds,
Both individual and collective
Threatening  Peace and Social Life
Which we are all entitled.

 

In this New Year, Lord,
Help us
To be witnesses of Light
When darkness blind our spiritual sight.

 

  In this New Year, Lord,
Help us
To be witnesses of joy
When sadness settles in our hearts
And in the heart of those who
Hunger and thirst for social justice.

 

In this New Year, Lord,
Help us
To comfort the afflicted hearts
By the division in families and communities of life;
The war in the world, natural disasters,
Global warming, the economic debt,
The overconsumption and waste of food.

In this New Year, Lord,
Help us make every effort to do

What leads to peace and

To mutual edification; Rom, 14:19

Help us to realize that Peace on Earth
Begins with each of us;
Help us to get involved at our level,
To build a world more just and civilized.

 

In this New Year, Lord,
Help us
To accept our interdependence;
To realize that we need each other
To help us in our inner journey
That leads us to true peace and holiness.

In this New Year, Lord,
Fill us with your Holy Spirit
Each day of our lives

So we leave on our life paths,
Petals of rose, joy, peace and love.

 

In this New Year, Lord,
We are saying thank you to you:
Thank you for coming and live in our world;
Thank you to wrap us in your love;
Thank you to pacify our hearts
By your peaceful presence.

Let Peace be on earth!
